Just Can't Let Go - "The Pedestrian" Reflective Poem

The past.
I try desperately to search
For a clip of the good times in my personal movie.
Meaningful snippets replay, but the true vividness has faded far far away.

The laughs, dances, songs and the joys that have brought us closer together,
What happened?  What went wrong?
Why is what was once reality now behind us?

Sure we still talk, though through a screen,
Yes, it’s more convenient,
But many of the sensory feelings have escaped our conversations.
They went jumping joyfully
Into the horizons distantly beyond us,
Even they saw their misplacement in our current dialogues.

I fear, I dread, that you are slipping away from me,
Although I know you are near, the distance we have let ourselves create is light years apart.
Come back to me, let us be able to touch, to feel and to live truly again!

I know we’re still compatible, that we can still understand each other,
But I sense that our ways of processing have differed throughout the years.

I have a feeling that I will be the one here wanting to reminisce,
Really?
Am I the only one who wants to go back to the way things were before?
